At hog roast Leatherhead we believe one of the best things about a pig roast is that it’s family-friendly. Although we can cater for sit-down meals at events such as weddings, at the more informal end of our range we offer disposal plates and cutlery, or simply napkins, so there are no worries about what the kids are getting up to with it. The meat is served in soft rolls with your choice of apple sauce, stuffing, and crackling, a real crowd pleaser, but for little ones who find roasted meat too “grown up” there are other choices on offer, such as burgers and sausages. There are other meats as well, for those who can’t or won’t eat pork – lamb, beef, chicken, or turkey are other alternatives as well as lovely vegetarian options we offer.
We understand family time is important which is why it is ideal for hog roast Leatherhead to cater at your event. Our fully trained chefs will do all the food preparation while the meat cooks, and then take care of the carving and clearing up whilst you and your guests relax and take in the delicious aromas that fill the air.
From soft play areas for the smallest tots, to art exhibitions for the adults, there’s something for everyone. For example, the Fire and Iron gallery shows pieces of art made by blacksmiths and glass work, including metal dinosaur skeletons and Chinese dragons – impressive whatever your age! There is also a museum, and a number of National Trust and historic houses and gardens.
Just outside the town are two great family attractions. Bocketts Farm Park offers unusual animals like llamas and alpacas, a petting zoo, baby animals, pig racing and pony rides. It’s great to teach kids about where their food comes from, something we fell is important – at hog roast Leatherhead we source our meat from local suppliers. There are play areas inside and out, with corkscrew slides, trampolines, and a giant bouncy pillow – guaranteed to make the grown-ups wish they were kids again! For families with slightly older children, or “big kids” Chessington World of Adventures is a short drive away. With themed areas and thrill rides like the Vampire and Dragon’s Fury, it’s guaranteed to be a fun day out.
Leatherhead Youth Football Club was the location of an event we catered at recently for 110 guests. We arrived at the event early to set up the machine and familiarise ourselves with the area. As expected, the appetites of these young footballers were huge to say the least. As the hog slowly roasted to perfection, the guests were busy partying away whilst eager to get their hands on some lovely pig in a bun! The pork soon went along with the accompaniments such as, golden crispy crackling, stuffing and homemade apple sauce. The event was a roaring success for us at hog roast leatherhead and hopefully everyone at Leatherhead Youth Football Club.
For those feeling more “outdoorsy” there are outdoor education clubs for children between eight and sixteen, offering activities like abseiling and adventure walking. Or they could have a “TAZ” party and spend the day pretending to be explorers, island survivors, or pirates. For those who want the whole family to get a taste of the outdoor life there’s The National Trust’s Box Hill or Polesden Lacey, which have events and activities, including guided walks, throughout the year.
Sounds perfect to build up an appetite for a family hog roast Leatherhead pig roast in the evening. Hungry customers are the best kind to have – they really appreciate freshly cooked food, and we rarely have to deal with leftovers! Roasting meat in its own juices is also a really healthy way to cook, so they can leave feeling as good as when they arrived.
