Hog Roast Dorking often caters weddings but we are also often invited to provide tasty food for all kinds of other special occasions too, including anniversaries, engagements, retirements, birthdays and christenings. However, we are also asked to cater corporate functions, school fetes, garden parties and so much more too. We’ve spent many years doing so until now, to the best of our abilities and always going the extra mile when it comes to our customers and their guests.
For a private party that Alan asked Hog Roast Dorking to cater recently, he ordered our pigs in buns for the 40-plus people on his guest list. Having enjoyed them himself before on numerous occasions, Alan knew that most of his guests would love them too but he also needed to know that any guests on special diets would be able to eat at the party as well. He asked us about our options for vegetarians, vegans and guests with a gluten intolerance or allergy and was very happy with what we told him – we have a variety of fresh, homemade dishes available for special diets and we always do our utmost to ensure everyone is satisfied. Armed with a list of possibilities, Alan said he would get back to us as soon as possible about what he needed.
When Alan called back, he said he needed a vegan option for one, a vegetarian option for one and a gluten-free option for a meat-eater. We suggested that both the vegetarian and the vegan could enjoy the same food, such as our veggie skewers; they are usually made with halloumi and fresh vegetables but for vegans, we omit the cheese, which we could do for this party. Plus the gluten-free meat-eater would be able to eat our pigs in buns – we just needed to bring along suitable bread rolls or wraps.
On the day of Alan’s party at a local community centre, Hog Roast Dorking created a gorgeous feast and made sure that everyone could eat and enjoy our food, and that they did.
