As a country built on a population of sports enthusiasts and food lovers, it’s perhaps no surprise that Hog Roast Chertsey regularly receives bookings to provide catering for local sporting events and ceremonies. Recently, however, the team was hired to fulfill one of their largest-ever bookings yet when they were asked to cater for a corporate tag rugby tournament held at Grasshoppers RFC in Isleworth. Eager to prove that there’s no event too big or too small for the team to pull off, they immediately threw themselves into preparing for the occasion.
Headed by our highly experienced catering manager Matt, the team from Hog Roast Chertsey worked flat-out to ensure the day went off without a hitch. From setting up the marquee and tables for the guests, to providing an abundance of disposable crockery and a drool-worthy menu that was suitable for everyone in attendance, we’re proud to say that the whole group brought their A-game with them.
Thanks to our lightweight and easily-portable equipment, our teams can set up everywhere and anywhere – even in the middle of a field – which is a good thing too, because with 250 hungry mouths to feed, there was a lot of cooking that needed to be done for this special occasion! Under the cover of a couple of gazebos, the team got started on cooking our classic trio, which consists of a scrumptious hog roast served with sweet apple sauce, stuffing and perfectly crispy crackling. Next up was the locally sourced free-range chicken smothered in a homemade onion gravy and for the vegetarians and vegans, the team whipped up their famous handmade veggie burgers and aromatic grilled vegetable skewers which were served alongside mixed salads, creamy coleslaw and chunky chips.
When the match finally drew to a close in the early evening, guests and team members from both sides of the field who had been rivals just moments before, joined together at their dinner tables to enjoy the flavour-rich food that the Hog Roast Chertsey catering crew had worked so hard to create, and with more than enough to go around everyone remained in high spirits.
