Watching live music is an incredible feeling for all, so it is great when summer rolls around and music festivals begin to resume. Music is a great way to unite people, whether it is at a local or national festival!
With government restrictions on events still in place, there are limitations to what can take place currently. However, audiences are allowed to meet outdoors in a socially distanced fashion to enjoy great music, a friendly atmosphere and some delicious food. Hog Roast Brook recently catered for a local village music festival, providing one of our most appealing menus!
On the day of the festival, our team arrived at the venue well in advance, giving us plenty of time to cook and prepare our dishes. The team organising the festival had asked us to provide our slow-roasted pig menu since it is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser and is easy to serve to a large number of guests. This menu consists of slow-roasted pork served with fresh bread rolls and wraps, accompanied with sage and onion stuffing, crispy crackling, and homemade applesauce. The first step to the preparation was to cook the pig in our Hog Roast Brook roasting machine.
Once the pig had roasted to perfection, we raised it on the serving platter. This is a great meat for public catering since it smells incredible while it roasts and it looks delicious, which is the perfect way to entice guests to see what we have to offer. As guests approached our catering station we carved the juicy pig and plated it up with the trimmings, to create a perfect lunchtime meal.
This is an incredibly versatile meal that is popular for many kinds of events, including music festivals! It is easy for the guests to eat while they are outdoors, enjoying the music and the sunshine.
