Celebrating A 40th Birthday With A Hog Roast Haslemere Buffet

Last Friday was Peter’s 40th birthday, and to celebrate the all-important occasion, his wife, Andrea, had organised a huge birthday bash on his behalf. Going all out, she had hired a function hall at the local golf club – a.k.a. Peter’s favourite haunt – and had hired the Hog Roast Haslemere catering team to serve a scrumptious menu for all of the 150 guests that had confirmed their attendance.

This large-scale event called for our Southern Slow Roast Menu, which is known for being one of our more varied meal plans, as it boasts a selection of meat choices, a veggie/vegan option, an array of Deep South-inspired sides and extras, including dips, sauces and rolls, which are ideal for allowing guests to personalise each serving. Like many of our customers and clients, Andrea fell in love with this feast the moment she read about it and knew right off the bat that her husband would love it too.

As it was such an important occasion, though, Andrea was keen to customise the meal in some way to make it feel even more special. At this, our catering manager, Shaun, suggested adding one of our newly released Grazing Tables into the mix, which sees us cover an entire table with snacks chosen by the client. Andrea loved the sound of this and had asked Shaun to include rich-tasting cheeses, deli meats, olives, sausage rolls, scotch eggs and artisan breads.

Hog Roast Haslemere On the day of the party, Hog Roast Haslemere worked their socks off to prepare the birthday buffet, which consisted of BBQ pork butt, Cajun-spiced whole roast chickens, pulled quarter of minted lamb, and BBQ pulled jackfruit rolls with Memphis style crunchy coleslaw, mac and cheese, Greek salad, mixed fries and, of course, a Grazing Table.

The feast was served outdoors, underneath one of our gazebos, which had been decorated with lights and balloons. The birthday boy, Peter, was completely taken aback when Andrea revealed the surprise, but quickly overcame his shock and got into the party spirit when Hog Roast Haslemere handed him a generously-filled plate of tasty foods to try.
