A 90th birthday deserves to be celebrated with the best of everything. The best place, the best company, and the best food. At Hog Roast Laleham, we were given the opportunity to cater for a lovely 90-year-old grandma on her birthday. It is so special to appreciate your elders and make the most of their time here. It is incredible to listen to their memories and be taken back to their youth – we love the fact that we get to be a very small part of their incredible lifetimes.
The nostalgic chatter of course needs a hearty meal to go with it. The main guest opted for our Gourmet BBQ menu for the birthday meal. This includes a variety of fresh and locally sourced meats, including handmade British beef burgers, that when grilled have an incredible smoky flavour and are ridiculously juicy. We also served Chef’s very own gourmet sizzling sausages, and authentically flavoured Thai Chicken Kebabs. And it doesn’t end there… we served BBQ meaty marinated spareribs that fall of the bone when bitten alongside a delicious pork joint with crackling.
We also served up some fried onions and melted cheese onto the beef burgers to bulk them up before placing them is a choice of white, brown or gluten free bread rolls. It doesn’t even stop there, the vegetarian guests needed something just as delicious, we cooked some herby vegetarian sausages and grilled some colourful vegetable and halloumi skewers that were bursting with fresh and cheesy flavours (without halloumi for vegans). We served these with wraps with Tzatziki dip and sweet and punchy sweet chilli sauce.
And finally, for the sides, a choice of a tangy Greek feta salad, chef’s own pasta salad and buttery herb dressed new potatoes. Each meal was served on wooden bamboo crockery and cutlery with good quality napkins – only the best for grandma’s 90th.
It was such a fin day for staff and guests, we were happy to see that the birthday girl got such and amazing birthday meal, and we really hope to be back to see her again for the next milestone!
