As a caterer we have met a tonne of wonderful people over the years. Some we have struck up longstanding relationships with and look forward to seeing again and again at regular annual events.
One such group and event is our friends that run the annual Magfest charity event here in Kingston Upon Thames. These are friends of Hog Roast Kingston Upon Thames that have taken it upon themselves to host a regular silly and fun festival type event in order to raise money for a charity of their choice. Chef Shaun and the Hog Roast Kingston Upon Thames team have been a part of this event before, so knowing just how silly and fun it can get we were very excited to return once again.
To get into the spirit of the thing, guests were invited to attend in fancy dress. The theme was circus/clown, meaning there were a tonne of very fun and colourful costumes in attendance. We’re 
only sorry that we didn’t have chef Shaun in a bowler cap, wig, and red nose! The fancy dress set the tone for a very fun atmosphere, which our dining then helped to fuel even further. For the 60-odd guests in attendance, Shaun cooked up hog roast rolls with our crispy crackling, sage and onion stuffing, and apple sauce. Or there were veggie and vegan options of grilled veg and halloumi skewers (without the halloumi as a vegan option) along with fresh salad and gourmet coleslaw – adding to the colourful theme!
We had a wonderful time chatting and serving every guest. Some familiar faces from the last time we have catered this event and some new to add to our growing phonebook! It’s all the more enjoyable because this was an event in ode to something very important to the Hog Roast Kingston Upon Thames. For the Magfest event a GoFundMe page was set up to raise funds for a dementia and diabetes charity, so not only could you come over to our stall to get served a delicious meal, but you could also give a little something back too!
