At Hog Roast Marlow, we are no strangers to creating unforgettable catering experiences, but this Saltburn-themed 21st birthday celebration at Alexandra Marsh was truly something special. On
Saturday the 6th of September, Catering Manager Shaun and the team had the privilege of serving 170 guests at Home Farm House on the Harleyford Estate. With a unique theme, a stunning setting, and an incredible menu, it was a night to remember.
Guests were welcomed to a beautiful grazing table brimming with our antipasti platters. Fine Italian meats including prosciutto, Parma ham, and salami were paired with cheeses such as buffalo mozzarella, Parmigiano, and Gorgonzola. With artisan breads like focaccia, ciabatta, and breadsticks alongside extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar, it created a vibrant, sharing-style starter that encouraged guests to mingle and graze at their leisure.
For the main event, our Southern Slow Roast menu took centre stage. Guests enjoyed Texan 24-hour beef brisket, Cajun spiced roast chicken, and fall-off-the-bone Louisiana sticky pork ribs, all cooked to perfection. The meats were paired with smoky BBQ glazes, fiery Cajun hot pepper sauce, and our signature hickory bourbon BBQ sauce, ensuring every bite was full of bold flavour. For vegetarian and vegan guests, our grilled vegetable skewers with wraps and dips proved a big hit, offering a lighter but equally delicious alternative.
The sides were every bit as satisfying. Greek salad, creamy mac and cheese, and a hearty mix of traditional and sweet potato fries meant there was plenty to go around. Served buffet-style on eco-friendly wooden bamboo crockery, the presentation fit seamlessly with the relaxed yet stylish vibe of the evening.
To finish, desserts were served to 120 guests, with profiteroles and brownies disappearing almost as quickly as they arrived. It was the perfect sweet note to end a menu that had delighted guests from start to finish.
This 21st birthday was a true celebration of food, fun, and style. Hog Roast Marlow was proud to play a part in making it a night the birthday guest and their loved ones will never forget.
