At Hog Roast Reading, we’re thrilled to be part of a truly special occasion this September as Jim celebrates his 80th birthday. On the 6th of September 2025, Catering Manager Shaun and the team will be heading to Tanglewood in Burghfield Common, Reading, where 30 guests will be treated to a mouth-watering Southern Slow Roast menu.
The star of the show will be a trio of slow-cooked favourites. Guests will enjoy BBQ pork butt that’s been cooked until tender and juicy, Cajun spiced whole roast chickens with just the right amount of kick, and Louisiana sticky pork ribs that fall off the bone and are coated in rich, smoky flavours. These will be served alongside soft bread rolls and wraps, including gluten free options on request, and paired with a choice of sauces ranging from a sweet and smoky BBQ glaze to a fiery Cajun hot pepper sauce and the ever-popular hickory bourbon BBQ.
No one is left out of the feast, as our plant-based diners can look forward to our famous vegan pulled jackfruit, steeped in a tangy hickory BBQ sauce and dressed with a crunchy slaw – a dish that’s every bit as satisfying as the meaty mains. The buffet will also feature plenty of fresh and vibrant sides to complete the spread, including seasonal green leaf salad, homemade gourmet coleslaw and perfectly roasted baby new potatoes.
All of this will be served buffet-style onto stylish wooden bamboo crockery with wooden cutlery and quality napkins, making the meal both impressive and convenient.
