Looking back, May feels like it disappeared in about five minutes. One minute we were unloading equipment at the start of the month and the next we were packing away after our final event, wondering where all the time had gone. We certainly can’t complain though. Our diary was packed full of exciting events, the weather was gorgeous and we met some brilliant people along the way.
So, before we get busy with some of the huge events that June has in store for us, we thought we’d take a little moment to give a shout-out to the event that rounded May off so perfectly…
On the 30th of the month, Hog Roast West Drayton headed out to cater a birthday party for 80 guests, and trust me when I say this was no ordinary birthday bash.
We’ve done plenty of birthday celebrations over the years, but this one had a fantastic atmosphere from the very beginning. As for the menu (because we know you’re dying to know) the host had gone for our Southern Slow Roast Menu – which meant there was plenty for guests to get excited about. As people began making their way to the buffet, the first thing they noticed was the smell. Slow-cooked meats have a way of drawing people in, and this spread was no exception. We served tender BBQ pork butt, our famously rich 24-hour Texan beef brisket and pulled minted lamb that disappeared from the serving trays remarkably quickly.

But that was just the beginning.
At Hog Roast West Drayton, we always want to make sure every guest feels catered for, so alongside the slow-roasted meats we prepared grilled vegetable kebabs with the option of halloumi, cool tzatziki and sweet chilli sauce, creating a hearty alternative for ourĀ vegetarian guests. And since no feast would be complete without a few indulgent sides, there were bowls of fresh Greek salad and trays of creamy mac and cheese and sweet potato and classic fries that kept plates looking colourful and appetites fully satisfied.
By the time we packed down, guests were still chatting, music was still blaring, and the birthday celebrations were showing no signs of slowing down – a pretty fitting way to bring a busy month to a close, if we do say so ourselves.
If you’ve got a birthday celebration coming up and want to make it one to remember, we’d love to help make it happen so get in touch with Hog Roast West Drayton and let’s start planning something delicious.
