Eighty years deserves more than a cake and a chorus of Happy Birthday. So when David’s family got together to celebrate the milestone, they made sure the food was every bit as memorable as the occasion itself by inviting Hog Roast Kingswood to rustle up something delicious.
On this occasion, that meant bringing in the Southern Slow Roast Spread and giving it our full attention all afternoon. With dinner service locked in for 5pm, there was no room for shortcuts – every element had to be ready, right, and worth the wait. But if there’s one thing you should know by now about Hog Roast Kingswood, it’s that we never let a little pressure get to us. If anything it only drives us to do better – and the proof was in the results. Everything tasted fresh, delicious and had guests queuing for more.
On the mains side, guests had some genuinely tough choices ahead of them: 24-hour Texan beef brisket that melted in the mouth, Cajun spiced chicken with a proper kick, pulled quarter of minted lamb for something a little more delicate, and grilled vegetable kebabs (halloumi left out for the vegans in the crowd) for a lighter option that still packed flavour. To top it all off, Hog Roast Kingswood laid on smokey sweet BBQ glaze, Cajun hot pepper sauce and a hickory bourbon BBQ sauce – because a spread like this deserves options, not just one bottle of ketchup passed around the table.
Then came the sides, and we didn’t hold back there either. Fresh veg sourced from local markets and greengrocers went into a Greek salad, roasted baby new potatoes, and both sweet potato and classic fries – the kind built for dunking straight into a lineup of Sauce Shop sauces.
Being part of David’s 80th was genuinely special, and it’s exactly the kind of milestone we love getting involved in. Happy birthday David – and thanks for having us!
