Recently, the Hog Roast Guildford team were hired by Michelle for her event which she was hosting at Tormead School in Guildford. The event was a national gymnastics competition which ran alongside a casual teachers vs students netball and hockey competition and was to be held from early in the day until the afternoon. The food was served onsite and outside so it was important that the meat was served in heated metal trays to ensure that food remained hot throughout the service without drying out. The food looked beautiful on the buffet and the team were really pleased with how it looked.
Michelle selected the Hog Roast Guildford team’s menu one which featured a classic slow roasted hog which was cooked professionally in one of the Hog Master machines. This mimics the traditional method of cooking of spit roasting which ensures that the hog is cooked evenly all over and creates some fantastic crispy crackling. The tasty hog meat was served alongside the classic accompaniments of fresh apple sauce and homemade stuffing. Furthermore, a vegetarian option of lightly grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers served with pitta breads and a tzatziki dip were served as an alternative to the meat. A selection of sides including a mixed salad and coleslaw were served alongside the meat.
The food was served at 11:30 am as an brunch time menu. The Hog Roast Guildford team, therefore, arrived at 9 am to ensure that everything would be ready in time for the midday service. The service was to run through to 2:30 pm and the team worked hard to maintain a fantastic service throughout. The Hog Roast Guildford team’s Catering Manager, Ben, did a great job of leading the team through a smooth service. He was assisted on the day by Beth who did a great job of upholding a the quality standards of the team. In addition, the pair helped to create a fantastic atmosphere at the event through their friendly, buoyant service. The guests appeared to really enjoy the food and Michelle could not have been happier with the outcome of the event.
