Hog Roast Claygate: Intimate 40th Birthday Party

2020 might have been a bit of a flop so far (okay, so we’ll admit that ‘a bit’ is maybe somewhat of an understatement!), but at least the weather has been on our side, right? Thanks to these past few months of scorching sunshine, Hog Roast Claygate has been able to continue doing what we do best. For those of you who don’t know us that well yet, what we do best is putting a smile on people’s faces with our fabulous outdoor events and drool-inducing hog roast feasts!

Hog Roast ClaygateThe most recent celebration we attended took place over the weekend at a private home in the local area. A few weeks before the event, the Hog Roast Claygate catering crew had been asked by Mr, and Mrs Chertkow to work our magic at their son, Mark’s 40th birthday party, and our catering manager Shaun couldn’t wait to help this lovely couple out.

After spending some time going over our range of catering packages and menu options with the clients, Shaun helped them decide on our private party menu 3, which was ideal for the small-scale event that the duo had organised. Since only the closest family were invited to the celebration (making the guest list a total of 10 people), a smaller-sized pig was used for the occasion with the addition of some of our tasty side dishes.

With the temperature topping 30 degrees, the Hog Roast Claygate team were sweltering, to say the least, as they cooked the spread in the back garden of the Chertkow’s home. Making the most of the shade cast by the catering gazebo, Shaun and the team worked tirelessly to prepare generous platters of Mediterranean pasta salad, chef’s own gourmet sausages, gluten-free rolls, and of course, a meat-free alternative of grilled veggie skewers with optional halloumi, tzatziki dip and flatbreads.

After resting on a bed of savoury stuffing for several hours above a low flame, the lightly blackened pig was ready to be carved up and served. Birthday boy, Mark was the first to trial the fork-tender pulled pork, closely followed by the rest of the guests who echoed his sounds of contentedness.
