We all love a good wedding, especially the Hog Roast Cranleigh team who enjoy nothing more than helping brides and grooms achieve their dream ceremony. But while we all want to believe that these fairytale romances will last a lifetime, sadly this isn’t always the case and many of our favourite couples end up parting ways later in life for one reason or another. For this reason, it’s even more special when couples reach a milestone in their relationships and just last week, the Hog Roast Cranleigh catering team had the pleasure of helping a lovely couple celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary at Maidenbower Community Centre in Crawley.
Four decades is a long time to be with someone, which is why the team knew they had to give Christine and her hubby an anniversary to remember. After talking through our wide variety of options which suit all event styles and budgets, expert catering manager Matt was able to help the couple decide on our classic hog roast menu which has remained a firm favourite with our clients for years due to its informal feel and ability to feed large groups of people.
With up to 100 hungry guests set to attend Christine’s ruby wedding anniversary party, the Hog Roast Cranleigh team arrived at the community centre eight hours in advance to prepare our signature menu which includes a selection of succulent meats chosen by our client, an array of freshly made soft floured rolls and wraps and a vegetarian alternative of grilled vegetable and haloumi skewers. When Christine and her partner arrived, they were both very impressed when the team presented them with a buffet of juicy gourmet sausages, 100% beef handmade burgers, rosemary seasoned spring lamb with a sprig of mint and a mustard and dill sauce; and of course the main attraction, a whole slow roasted pig served with apple sauce, stuffing and crispy crackling!
The guests were quick to create their own snack in a roll by combining the food on offer with a selection of condiments, and best of all, the ruby couple had a spectacular evening. Before leaving the centre, the Hog Roast Cranleigh team tidied up the aftermath and discreetly disposed of the rubbish offsite.
