As the summer holidays come to a close, schools are beginning to make preparations for the 2021/22 academic year. For many schools, this includes teacher training days to bring staff up to date with new procedures, technology, curriculums, and more. Hog Roast Burntcommon catered for a teacher training day in August and this is the menu that we provided…
A primary school in Surrey recently contacted Hog Roast Burntcommon to arrange catering for their teacher training day. The day consisted of a lot of hard work and plenty of new information for the staff to learn, so it was perfect for them to be rewarded with a delicious lunch. This was also a great way to split up the learning, providing a well-needed energy boost for a busy afternoon. Linda works as a deputy headteacher for the school and she contacted our catering manager Shaun to see which of our menus would be ideal for their needs. after a discussion, she decided on our Classic Slow-Roasted hog menu being served at 13:00 for the 25 staff members.
On the day of the event, our Hog Roast Burntcommon team arrived in the morning to set up our catering station and begin roasting the hog. To achieve a juicy and delicious flavour, the hog needed to slow-roast for around 4 hours. While the hog was roasting, we prepared our meat-free option: BBQ pulled jackfruit. Alongside the main dishes, we also prepared a selection of sides and salads, including fresh bread rolls and wraps, sweet potato fries, crunchy coleslaw, and seasonal leaves. This created a delicious lunch for the staff to enjoy and it was a perfect addition to the training day.
