Burgers, sausages and chicken kebabs are a classic combo for a reason. They’re tasty, filling and always a crowd-pleaser. But they’re also a little, dare we say it, predictable at this point, aren’t they? Don’t get us wrong, there’s nothing wrong with a traditional BBQ – we’ve got our own take that gives these favourites a proper upgrade – but every now and then, people want something that isn’t the exact same lineup they’ve had at every summer party for the past decade. That’s where our Southern Slow Roast Menu steps into the spotlight.
Pulling inspiration from grillmasters across the pond, this menu leans into rich, soulful flavours that seem to win over guests of every age without much resistance. Which is exactly why our latest clients picked it for their family BBQ on the 15th of August.
After weeks of relentless heat, most of their guests had already worked their way through the usual barbecue rotation more times than they could count. So our clients wanted something that actually felt different this time round, and called in Hog Roast Rickmansworth to make it happen. We brought tender BBQ pork butt, Texan-style beef brisket that stayed properly moist and full of flavour and juicy chicken rubbed in a spicy Cajun blend, plus grilled vegetable kebabs with optional halloumi and tzatziki for the vegetarians and vegans in the group. Seasonal veg, mac and cheese and sweet potato fries rounded things out, alongside sauces running from sweet and smoky to genuinely fiery for anyone brave enough, and a basket of fresh rolls and wraps for the sandwich builders among the crowd.

With that much on offer, none of the 40 guests struggled to fill a plate. If anything, their only issue was wanting to keep eating well after they were already full, purely because everything tasted that good. Thankfully, Hog Roast Rickmansworth is always happy to box up leftovers so guests can keep enjoying it over the next few days, meaning nothing goes to waste.
