Hog Roast Egham: Joint Children’s Birthday Celebration

Organising a children’s birthday bash is no easy feat at the best of times, but it’s an entirely different ball game now that COVID-19 restrictions have been added to the mix. As a result, parents up and down the country have been doing what they can to commemorate their kid’s birthday’s while still following the government’s guidelines as closely as possible, and one method of celebration that is becoming increasingly popular is joint parties!

Not only do these mutual celebrations limit the number of gatherings people have, but they are also a cost-effective route that parents can take in order to cut the costs of entertainment, party bags and, of course, the food! Speaking of food, Hog Roast Egham was recently asked to work our magic at a shared birthday party for several children, and with a guest list of 100 people, the client was looking for an equally delicious and inclusive spread.

This just so happens to be our speciality, and Luckily for them, our catering manager, Shaun, was there to help them through every step of the way! After agreeing to our private party menu 3, which is by far our most popular spread, the booking was finalised and left in the very capable hands of the Hog Roast Egham catering crew.

Turning up at the client’s private home in the late morning last Saturday, the team worked quickly to prepare an inviting spread which featured a slow roasted pig with all the trimmings, chips, warm new potatoes in herb butter, juicy sausages, crunchy coleslaw, bold and colourful salads and a meat-free alternative of grilled vegetable skewers with the option of halloumi chunks, tzatziki dip and flatbreads. Everything was to be served using our eco-friendly wooden crockery and cutlery, and baskets of gluten-free rolls and wraps were also included to allow the guests to experiment with unique flavour combinations.

Just as the parents had hoped, the children were thrilled with their joint party and food went down a treat with everyone in attendance. But best of all, Hog Roast Egham handled all the clean-up after the party ended which saved the mum’s and dad’s from a tiring task!
