This summer Hog Roast Chertsey was hired to provide catering at a rugby taster day taking place in Surrey. Mark runs the local rugby club and has teams of all ages, with the youngest players being as little as 5 years old. To ensure that the club has enough players for each team, he decided to host a taster day to give prospective players a chance to have a go at the sport and to play some games and activities. This was set to be a busy day with a lot going on and something for people of all ages to get involved with. To add extra appeal to the event, our catering manager Shaun was hired to provide a delicious slow-roasted hog served with all of the trimmings to the guests.
On the day of the event, Shaun and the Hog Roast Chertsey team arrived at the rugby club and began to prepare the menu. We began by slow-roasting the hog and ensuring that it was packed full of natural juices and flavours and cooked to perfection. Once ready, the meat was carved by our chef and served in fresh bread rolls. For meat-free guests, we also served veggie sausages in hot dog buns. As well as the mains, we provided seasonal salad dishes, homemade chips, sage and onion stuffing, crispy crackling, and fresh applesauce to create a varied and delicious meal.
