Every birthday is a special one, but for parents, nothing quite compares to the feeling of celebrating your child’s first birthday, and recently Hog Roast Oxted found themselves at Tonbridge’s Harris Field at the request of Adele, who had organised a huge party to commemorate her little girl turning one!
With it being such a momentous occasion, Adele had gone all out on the festivities – even going as far as to hire a party bus, bouncy castle and an ice cream van to make sure the day would never be forgotten. And knowing that with all those activities, her guests would surely grow hungry, Adele had asked Hog Roast Oxted to serve not just one but two of our tantalising menus…
From our wealth of catering options, the client had chosen our Classic Hog Roast and Gourmet BBQ Menus, giving the guests a rare choice of irresistibly juicy pulled pork rolls with stuffing, crackling and applesauce or succulent Thai chicken kebabs, mouth-watering burgers and sticky spareribs. The feast also included a chafing dish piled high with our chef’s own recipe gourmet sausages, a vegan option of flavour-bursting, hickory-steeped BBQ pulled jackfruit served in gluten-free buns with crunchy coleslaw, Greek salad and chunky chips.
Of course, with so many different elements to arrange, the spread had taken our catering manager, Shaun, and the rest of the Hog Roast Oxted team all afternoon, and also much of the late morning to prepare. But when the guests began queuing up at 3 pm to get their fill, our crew were ready for them!
Not only was the food piping hot and ready to be eaten in perfect time, but Hog Roast Oxted had made sure that everything looked beautiful too by using fresh slices of watermelon and pineapple to accentuate the colourful salads, and the selection of condiments was presented in white dishes atop wooden bamboo trays, which Adele was over the moon with.
The guests, too, were full of compliments when it came to the food, which was the perfect accompaniment to a fantastic day that was great fun for everyone involved!
