Hog Roast Ashtead is renowned in this area as well as elsewhere for our amazing centrepiece hog and spit roasts, which we’ve perfected over many years. Nevertheless, we are also known for providing our customers with plenty of variety and choice as well, because we know that people’s tastes can be very different and also because these days, many people have particular diets that they need catering. Whether for personal choice or for health reasons, like vegetarian or vegan, or for allergies and intolerances, like gluten-free, wheat-free or dairy-free, we ensure that all of your guests can enjoy our delicious, homemade food, regardless of diet.
Jane recently asked us to cater a party locally, as her son was leaving for Australia, and she asked us to provide our Southern Slow Roast Menu for 30 guests. This menu is a great option if you want to have several meats and several sides, to be enjoyed with fresh bread rolls and wraps, as well as tasty sauces and condiments. For the meats, you can choose from chicken, ribs, pork, lamb or beef brisket, which are all marinated and then roasted slow and low on the day, to produce tender meat that melts in your mouth. For the sides, you can select from our homemade coleslaw, a Greek salad, a seasonal green leaf salad, mac and cheese, corn cobettes, spicy sweet potato wedges, and skin-on Southern-style jacket potatoes. None of your guests will be hungry after this menu has been served!
Jane wanted the food to be served on china plates, and for us to serve Cajun-spiced whole roast chickens, sticky pork ribs, barbecued pork butt, a green leaf salad, wedges, coleslaw and a tomato and mozzarella salad, as well as a vegetarian option of veggie skewers and strawberry vacherins for dessert.
Our Hog Roast Ashtead team arrived in the morning, hours before food service, to set up our equipment and start the marinated meats cooking for hours at a low temperature. We outdid ourselves with the presentation of the food on this day, with the salads, meats and sides all looking like works of art.
By 2pm, Hog Roast Ashtead was ready to serve the guests plenty of gorgeous food as they all wished Jane’s son a fond farewell.
