Hog Roast Westcott
With the sun coming out now in ever increasing quantities the bookings are flooding in and Spitting Pig Surrey was off for another Hog Roast event in Westcott. The event was a celebration of life for a family member who had reached the extraordinary age of 99yrs before sadly passing away. With over 80 family and friends arriving in Wescott for our hog roast it was important as always to provide a fitting meal for this important occasion. As i drove to Hog Roast Westcott it made me thankful that I live in Surrey as it is certainly a beautiful part of the country and although almost missing the turnoff to the lane I was greeted by a cordoned off spot for my van right outside the garden gate which always puts a smile on ones face. It was a great bit of thinking by my hosts as with many cars arriving it saved a lot of distance carrying my gear in the hot summer sun. The temperature was at least 27 degrees but luckily I was situated at that end of a beautiful garden in the shade near a large fish pond.
The hog had been cooking on a slow and low flame since 11pm the night before and as expected the meat was just falling off the bone and super succulent. The guests were raving about the quality of the meat and crackling and many of my business cards had to be handed out as they came up for seconds and even thirds for the hungrier guests. It was a lovely day with my hosts very happy with the service and food and no doubt I will be back for a Hog Roast Westcott in the not too distant future.
