When you’re a child, the thought of sharing a birthday with someone else might seem like a total nightmare, but as time passes the logical idea of throwing a joint celebration starts to sound very appealing. Seriously, could anyone turn down double helpings of birthday cake? I think not! All jokes aside, the Hog Roast Redhill team are always ready to give clients the event of their dreams and recently, our experienced catering crew received a booking from Mo for a joint 50th and 60th birthday party.
Catering for a guest list of 100 people who had varying dietary needs, Mo initially felt out of her depth, but after discussing our expansive menu options with the Hog Roast Redhill team, she was pleased to discover that we offer far more than a delicious spit roast! Our gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan dishes have become increasingly popular among our clients over the years and striving to make everyone feel welcome, Mo decided to add our very popular grilled vegetable skewers with optionable haloumi and gluten-free rolls to the informal menu she had chosen for the evening.
In preparation for the 6:30pm serving time, the Hog Roast Redhill team loaded the van with locally sourced and free-range produce in the early afternoon before heading off to The Salfords Social Club. Upon arrival, the team wasted no time in getting the equipment set up, the soon-to-be succulent meats over the fire and the trio of salads prepared which left them plenty of time to offer a helping hand to Mo and her band of dedicated friends who were rushed off their feet with getting the venue ready.
Arriving guests were greeted with mouth-watering scents which led them straight to the buffet table where they were keen to fill their plates with a little bit of everything from the classic slow-roasted pig with applesauce and crispy crackling; to the chicken in onion gravy and chipolata sausages – but the hero of the night for many guests was our homemade stuffing which they couldn’t get enough of. Mo was very pleased with how everything turned out and she has since been in contact to thank the Hog Roast Redhill team for the relaxing evening and delicious food.
