Nestled in the heart of the gorgeous Surrey countryside in our hometown of Oxshott, where it is surrounded by 55 acres of perfectly-manicured ground, is one of the country’s leading pre-prep education establishments: Danes Hill School.
Since opening its doors for the first time ever more than five decades ago, Danes Hill has crafted a reputation for being the leading independent school in the area, which promises boys and girls between the ages of 3 and 13 a varied and extensive curriculum.
As you can imagine, the community forged at Danes Hill is a very close-knit one, so it was difficult for everyone when the current headmaster decided that it was time to leave his post. And deciding that the bitter-sweet occasion called for an unforgettable farewell party, the school’s supervisor, Steve, reached out to our team here at Hog Roast Oxshott and asked for us to take on the event.
Hog Roast Oxshott was more than happy to help out at the party, and right away, our catering manager, Shaun, began recommending menu options that suited the client’s brief. It didn’t take long before Steve settled on our most popular menu, the hog roast dining menu, which promises a flavoursome spread comprising drool-worthy spit-roasted pork with perfectly crisp pork rinds, sage and onion stuffing and homemade applesauce, which are served together on crunchy gluten-free rolls.
On this occasion, Steve had also asked us to include our BBQ pulled jackfruit rolls as an option for the vegetarian/vegan guests, in addition to succulent chicken and vegetable skewers with flatbreads and tzatziki dip for those who aren’t keen on pork.
The headmaster couldn’t have wished for a better send-off and was so grateful for the effort Steve went to. The 200 guests who arrived to celebrate that day were amazed by the quality that our Hog Roast Oxshott caterers delivered. The meats were tender, juicy and full of flavour, while the veg was fresh, crunchy and expertly seasoned. Everyone had an amazing time, and they couldn’t get enough of the delicious spread, which had them helping themselves to seconds and thirds as the afternoon progressed!
