While Christmas day maintains the prize-winning spot as the most popular day for couples to get engaged, Valentine’s Day comes in at a close second, and this year the love was certainly in the air! Following a romantic meal in their favourite restaurant, Cory plucked up the courage to ask Jodie, his girlfriend of seven years, to be his wife – and of course, she said yes!
After letting their family in on the big news, the lovebirds decided to take things a step further by organising an engagement party where they would celebrate the occasion properly. As we all know, no event is complete without some good food, but the last thing anyone wants is to be stuck in the kitchen all night and miss all the fun. The solution? Hog Roast Walliswood!

So, when Cory and Jodie approached us with plans to mark their engagement with a family-friendly feast, our catering manager was happy to talk them through the comprehensive packages we have on offer. After choosing the hog roast dining menu for the occasion, with hot dogs for the children and grilled veggie skewers for the vegetarians and vegans, the pair excitedly awaited the day of the party to arrive.
Turning up at the client’s home hours before the guests allowed Hog Roast Walliswood to prepare the mouth-watering feast which centred around our signature slow roasted pig with applesauce, sage and onion stuffing and crispy crackling; along with freshly tossed salads, gluten-free rolls and a variety of tasty condiments. Both Cory and Jodie were speechless when they were presented with the final result, and when the guests arrived, they wasted no time in filling their plates.
After a few humorous toasts from family members, everyone started digging into the flavoursome food, and as the evening drew to a close, the Hog Roast Walliswood team began tidying away the mess which they discreetly disposed of offsite. The couple was so happy with the service our team provided that they have since been in touch to discuss plans for their wedding reception feast which they are keen for us to cater for!
