Surrey’s Edgeborough prep school is proud to have a team of dedicated parents who provide a strong sense of community by maintaining a channel of communication between parents, teachers and pupils; and each year they take on the responsibility of coming up with an inclusive fundraising event for the school’s chosen local, national or international charity. This year, Katie was placed in charge of organising the fundraiser and knowing that the event wouldn’t be a success without having some great food on the go, her first course of action was to approach Hog Roast Farnham on behalf of the Edgeborough Parents Association events committee to find out more about the range of menu options and catering packages we have on offer.
After discussing her plans for the occasion and restricted budget with catering manager Matt, Katie was pleased to discover that booking an event with Hog Roast Farnham wouldn’t break the bank and when she heard about our affordable classic hog roast menu which has remained a popular choice among our clients for years, she immediately placed her trust in our reliable team of events staff. With the catering sorted, the only thing left for Katie to do was send out invites to the adults-only fancy dress fundraiser to her 185 guests who after hearing about the delicious menu, couldn’t wait to don their character-inspired costumes for the cause.
Working towards the 9 pm serving time, the Hog Roast Farnham team arrived on the school campus in the mid-afternoon where they quickly got to work by setting up the catering gazebos and pitching the marquee which they decorated with fairy lights and set the tables with crisp white tablecloths before getting started on the evening’s feast. Just in time for the arrival of the fancy dressers, the team prepared a mouth-watering buffet of slow-roasted pig which was served up with applesauce, stuffing, crispy crackling, gluten-free rolls and platters of mixed salads and crunchy coleslaw. Non-meat-eaters certainly weren’t forgotten about at this event and the team made sure there was the alternative option of grilled vegetable skewers with optionable haloumi which went down a treat!
Katie has since reached out to thank Hog Roast Farnham for making the event a huge success which helped the school raise vital funds for their trio of chosen charities.
