Comic Relief, or Red Nose Day, as it is often known, returns on Friday the 18th of March this year, with thousands of people set to take part in fundraising activities all over the country and proceeds going to the poorest and most disadvantaged people in the UK and the rest of the world. So, when event organiser, Erin, approached Hog Roast Hindhead to ask if we had room in our diary to help cater for the charity event she has planned for later on in the month, we were eager to assist!
She has put together a party that the entire community is welcome to take part in, and there will be a raffle with the chance to win lots of great prizes, carnival rides, bouncy castles and face painting for the kids and stalls selling handmade goods for the adults to shop. There will also be volunteers collecting donations, so the ticket holders will be able to give more if they wish to.
Hog Roast Hindhead will, of course, be there to serve our Classic Hog Roast Menu, which consists of gluten-free or wholemeal rolls stuffed with pulled pork, crunchy pork scratchings, savoury stuffing seasoned with sage and onion and, for an extra burst of flavour, a dollop of homemade applesauce.
For convenience, Erin has asked that the food be served using disposable crockery and cutlery, which will allow the guests to move around the venue easily whilst eating the delicious food. We will also be including a limited selection of our famous side dishes, which will allow the guests to pick from salad, coleslaw and chips to go with their hog roast roll.
Erin is really grateful to have Hog Roast Hindhead to help out with this large-scale event and has been particularly happy working with our catering manager, Shaun, who has gone the extra mile at every turn to make sure that this charity fundraiser is a huge success.
Everyone here at Hog Roast Hindhead is very much looking forward to working at this event, and since all profits made from this event will go straight to charity, we’re really hoping for a massive turnout!
