Another busy day here at spitting pig Surrey, amongst a few other events we catered for newly weds Hannah and Gavin in a beautiful house in Kenley. Although the weather wasn’t the best, it didn’t dampen the spirits and we had set up a kitchen area under gazebos to keep us all dry. We had limited space but made the most of it, having a front serving area with a back kitchen and preparation area we were able to prepare and serve the chosen menu with ease. As guests arrived we served a canapé reception, there was Scottish smoked salmon én croute and mini Yorkshire puddings with fillet of beef amongst other delicious tasters. The main course was of course our fantastic hog roast. The succulent hog roast in Kenley had been roasting at the venue for 11 hours and was falling off the bone. The guests could smell it cooking and couldn’t wait to get stuck in. Alongside the hog roast in Kenley we served chicken breast with a lemon and herb marinade and potato wedges with a spiced glaze, 4 salads of tomato and mozzarella, homemade coleslaw, Mediterranean pasta and a spring green leaf, the main course went down a treat and many compliments came back on how good the hog roast pork was. For dessert we served a freshly prepared fruit salad, lemon tart and chocolate torte, served with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. Although everyone had eaten a lot, they enjoyed the desserts and many compliments came back once more. We cleared down as our staff served tea and coffee to tables and prepared the evening buffet which was an array of finger food items alongside a stunning cheese board in which a renound sussex charmer was the star. The whole event was a huge success and we left the evening buffet for everyone to enjoy late into the night. Another great hog roast event from spitting pig surrey.
