What better way to celebrate a birthday than with a delicious Hog Roast Banstead?! That was Harriet’s thinking when she booked us for her husband’s 50th. She told us over the phone that he had never particularly been a fan of celebrating birthdays, but she had put her foot down this time and insisted they get the family together to celebrate such a milestone day.
Our job was to provide a tasty array of Hog Roast Banstead food to feed them and their 40 guests. For this event we had been asked to create our southern slow roast menu to ensure there was something to suit everyone’s tastes. This menu allows you to choose up to 3 different slow roast meats that are packed full of flavour and just melt in the mouth. Harriet had chosen on behalf of her husband, Eric, and gone for the Cajun Spiced Whole Roast Chickens, Fall Off the Bone Louisiana Sticky Pork Ribs and Creole Pulled Quarter of Spiced Lamb. This was to be accompanied by some corn cobettes that would be smothered in butter and some crunchy coleslaw. Harriet also asked if we could bring along a couple of vegetarian options, so our chef whipped up a butternut squash tart and some vegetable and halloumi skewers.
With such a feast planned the Hog Roast Banstead team couldn’t wait to get started preparing the food. We always like to take our time when slow roasting meats as we often find it tastes best the longer you leave it. However, we know it is not always ideal for us to show up at the crack of dawn for your afternoon event, so we are able to alter the cooking times depending on your needs. Luckily, Harriet and Eric didn’t mind us showing up early as they believed that the food had to be nothing but the best quality for his 5oth birthday. So, we quickly got to work to make it a special Hog Roast Banstead birthday to remember…
